IMPORTANT NOTICE Following a public hearing, the publishing of proposed rule changes, and final approval by the North Carolina Rules Review Commission, new rules regarding licensing have been published and become effective this year. Many of the new rules became effective as of January 1, 2010, with others becoming effective on July 1, 2010. Please click here to read the new rules. Please note that rules that were not revised during this process will remain as published in the current Edition (October, 2007) of the Laws & Rules (commonly referred to as "the green book".) You may click here to download a copy of the new rules that can be inserted into the current Laws & Rules book. License Renewal Information: Renewal invoices for 2010 were mailed to all active licensees on October 1, 2009. If you have misplaced or did not receive your renewal notice, you may click here to download the appropriate form. Information and payment for sub-licensees should be included as part of the master licensee's renewal. Please make checks or money orders payable to "State Board of Examiners" and mail to the address on the invoice. Please note that we do not accept "counter checks" or "starter checks" that do not bear the pre-printed account holder information and check number, nor do we accept cash, credit/debit cards, purchase orders, online or telephone payments. Renewals are currently being processed within 2-3 business days of receipt, and the new expiration date is displayed on this website immediately upon processing. Please allow 3-5 days after processing for your printed license to arrive in the mail. To check a license for the current expiration date, you may click here. If the license displays a 2010 expiration date, the license has been renewed for 2010. If the message "License Not Found" is displayed, the license has not been renewed and is not valid. As a reminder, all licensees must have the required number of continuing education (CE) credits in order to be eligible for renewal. The only exception is for individuals who are renewing for the year immediately following the original issuance of the license. Click here to check CE credits that have been submitted to the Board by the CE Providers. If you have earned credits that are not yet in our system, please include a copy (not the original) of the certificate with your renewal. Notification letters containing renewal information were mailed in October, 2009, to the last known address of licensees who expired in 2006, 2007, or 2008. Licensees who expired in 2006 or previous years are no longer eligible for renewal and must reapply for a license. Click here to download the appropriate application.
