The State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contractors is the agency that licenses contractors who install, alter or restore plumbing, heating, air conditioning or fire sprinkler systems. Its purpose is to protect the public health, safety and welfare by prescribing the standard of competence, experience and efficiency of applicants for license by examination. It receives and investigates complaints against licensed and unlicensed plumbing, heating, air conditioning and fire sprinkler contractors.
