License Definitions

 

  •  P-I        Plumbing Contracting, Class I

                     Residential, Commercial, and Industrial buildings 

  •  P-II       Plumbing Contracting, Class II

                     Single-family detached residential dwellings only

  •  H-1-I     Heating Contracting, Group 1, Class I

                     Residential, Commercial, and Industrial buildings, using steam or hot water systems 

  •  H-1-II    Heating Contracting, Group 1, Class II

                     Single-family detached residential dwellings only, using steam or hot water systems

  •  H-2       Heating Contracting, Group 2

                     Commercial and Industrial buildings with cooling capacity in excess of fifteen tons

  •  H-3-I     Heating Contracting, Group 3, Class I

                     Residential, Commercial, and Industrial buildings, using forced air heating and/or cooling systems

  •  H-3-II    Heating Contracting, Group 3, Class II

                     Single-family detached residential dwellings only, using forced air heating and/or cooling systems

  •  FP        Fuel Piping Contracting

                    Approved fuel source to any systems, equipment, or appliances located inside the premises.

  •  FS        Fire Sprinkler Installation Contractor

                   Water-based systems consistent with NFPA-13

  •  FS-I-C   Fire Sprinkler Inspection Contractor

                     Independent testing and inspections of fire sprinkler systems consistent with NFPA-25

  •  FS-I-T   Fire Sprinkler Inspection Technician (this is not a contracting license)

                    Conduct testing  and inspections of fire sprinkler systems consistent with NFPA-25                                   

  •  FS-M I  Fire Sprinkler Maintenance Technician (this is not a contracting license)

                     Perform periodic maintenance of fire protection systems consisting of minor repairs and other tasks

                     defined as maintenance in NFPA-25 at the location of the licensee's employer 

  •  RFSC    Residential Fire Sprinkler Contractor

                    Multipurpose water-based plumbing and fire sprinkler system consistent with NFPA-13D in single-family

                    detached residential dwellings. System must be designed by a Fire Sprinkler Installation Contractor

                    licensed by this Board or by a North Carolina Professional Engineer.
